Japanese Tanto Dagger
- Dated: Edo period, circa 1890
- Measurements: overall length 41 cm / 16 inches
Having a highly polished single-edged tapering blade with copper habachi, the dagger also features a hilt and scabbard decorated overall with fine cloisonné laid in fine copper-wire intertwining flower-heads and foliage. The pommel is in the form of a serpent with mother-of-pearl plaques and the bottom collar depicts turtles climbing from the ocean.
